Why I Took a Break From Social Media—and What It Taught Me About Motherhood, Hormones, and Healing

I haven’t posted on Instagram in a few weeks.

Not because I was burnt out…

But because life was asking me to lean in somewhere else.

I was at a place many of my clients reach:

Not in survival mode anymore… but not quite feeling like myself either.

The fog had lifted, but the pressure to keep up—to always share, teach, post, grow—was beginning to feel misaligned with the deeper rhythm my body and family were craving.

So instead of content calendars, I followed something else: my gut.

And that decision changed everything.

It started with a spontaneous yes…

My son turned seven in May at Disneyland (I love taking them there for their birthdays), and we decided—last minute—to pack up the trailer and take the whole family to Wyoming when family invited us to a weekend camping trip East.  That trip opened the door to something bigger: a summer of soul-stretching, family-rooted, barefoot-living presence.

We didn’t just drive to Wyoming.

We kept going.

Through Wyoming’s wide skies, into Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Zion, the Salt Flats, the Redwood Forest, and down the Northern California coastline.

It was chaotic, beautiful, healing.

And I didn’t post a single reel. And I didn't feel guilty about it.

I did support my clients deeper, wrote intentionally and got even more clarity of how I want to show up here.

I paused my posting. But I deepened my purpose.

I slowed down my workouts, synced with my cycle, honored my hunger, and walked daily outside without tracking anything or trying to hit a certain number.

I stopped chasing performance and started choosing presence.

I felt my nervous system exhale.

And I remembered what I teach:

🔹 Your metabolism isn’t broken—it’s overwhelmed.

🔹 Your nervous system doesn’t need more input—it needs safety.

🔹 Your body doesn’t want to be forced—it wants to be supported.

Now I’m back—with more intention than ever.

Not to hustle. Not to perform.

But to guide you—gently, powerfully—into a version of yourself that feels light, aligned, and grounded again.

Because if you’re a high-performing mom who’s out of survival mode but still doesn’t feel like yourself…

There’s a reason.

And I can help you reclaim your energy, confidence, and metabolism—without burnout, obsession, or shame.

Absolutely. Let’s close this blog with a reflective journal section + gentle invitation to a summer challenge, offering your readers a takeaway that turns inspiration into alignment.

✍️ Journal Prompts for an Intentional Summer

Before I return to teaching tools, rhythms, and nervous system support again, I want to leave you with the exact questions I asked myself during this season away from the screen. These questions helped me choose presence over performance—and they might do the same for you.

Take 10–15 minutes this week to sit with one or more of these prompts. Let them guide you into the kind of summer your soul is craving:

✨ The Questions That Changed My Summer:

  1. What does a present summer look like for me—and what needs to shift to make room for it?

  2. Where in my life am I performing… when I really want to be feeling?

  3. What rhythms make me feel grounded and light—and how can I honor those daily?

  4. What would it look like to trust my body more than my to-do list?

  5. What memories do I want my children to hold onto from this season—and what do I need to release to make space for them?

  6. If I believed healing could be gentle, joyful, and simple—what would I do differently this week?

  7. How can I nourish my nervous system today with less screen time and more presence?

🕊️ Ready to have a summer that feels like healing instead of hustling?
